Summer is winding down, classmates...
August was a busy month--lots of travelers and visitors to the old hometown.
Fred and Sharon Kiernan Maggard made visits to family spread across the midwest. We had hoped to have time for lunch and chit chat but their calendar was packed so tightly we couldn't make it happen. Maybe when they come back in October.
Linda Brackney Spradlin surprised even herself with her spontaneous trip to Ohio. Even with only a moment's notice, we can pull together a few classmates for a visit.

Roger and Sally Jo Scott brought their clan to Delaware to celebrate the 90th birthday of Sally Jo's Aunt Marcena. Becky Ross Donovan reserved a table for twenty at All Occasions' Sunday brunch and every seat was filled. Every tummy was, too. Their buffets are excellent.

According to his father, Rodger Nutt was in town for a short visit but we didn't cross paths. It's too bad we couldn't get together. I haven't seen Rodger since high school.
There is a rumor that Dave Bertram was in town. We didn't get to visit but he did send a photo of five of his seven grandchildren.
These are some of our grand kids. There are two more in San Jose, CA. We had a family get together this spring, following Savanna's (back row left) graduation from high school in John, WA. We are very proud of Savanna. She stopped high school following her sophomore year and began taking college classes. This special program enabled her to graduate with her high school class and start her junior year of college this fall. Dave
Susie Donovan Mooney had hoped to attend our first reunion planning meeting but she had a better offer.
I had high hopes of attending this meeting since I am having a breather from chemo and feel pretty well. My son and 6 year old grandson are flying in from Chicago for the week end. With my local son and two grandsons we are going to have a "Mooney Men" weekend with no girls except Gram. I will think of you all and hope to be more helpful in the future. Thanks for ALL of your GOOD WORK!!! Susie
Getting all the Mooney Men together doesn't happen that often. Enjoy them! There will be plenty more meetings.
REUNION NEWS
Speaking of the upcoming 50th reunion, mark these dates on your 2011 calendar--September 30, October 1 and 2. The planning has begun and we hope to make this milestone memorable.
COLORADO TRAVELOGUE
As promised, here are the first three albums of Dennis Jackson's July vacation in the San Juan Mountains. He was accompanied by his son and daughter and their families. The three grandsons are old enough to enjoy the adventures. At age 2, Gabriella hasn't quite grasped the concept but it won't be long before she does. Check out the high altitude snowball fight, the scenic town of Silverton, and the visit to the Placer and California Gulches.
THE RUMOR IS TRUE
It has been verified. Jim Kucera has retired and has joined our mailing list. Welcome, Jim! It's good to have you aboard.
ALMOST RECESSION-PROOF
