WILLIS ALL-CLASS MEET & GREET

The all-class get-together came off as planned on Saturday, September 26, and we had a great time.  The rainy weather held down the turnout but we still had about 90 alumni.  Counting spouses and guests, there were over 100 in attendance.

The scheduled hours were 1:00 to 3:00 PM but when we arrived at 12:30, there was already a crowd loitering outside the cafeteria--without hall passes!  These folks were eager.

Bill Williams ('54) brought his historical fire truck and many took pictures.  Brent Carson (Hayes '66), a former Willis teacher and now President of the Delaware County Historical Society, took time from his fair schedule to speak to us about the history of Willis.

Many people took pictures and I would like to post as many as possible for sharing.  If you have posted your photos to the web, send the link to judy@willis61.com and I will add it to this page.  If you do not have a photo web service, send your photos to the same address and I will post them to an album accessible to all.  A list of all attendees who registered has been posted.  Hopefully, this will help to identify all alumni.  Click here.

Many thanks to Ron Gabriel ('54) for his idea of an all-class reunion and the persistance to see it through.  Also many thanks to Liz Robertson of the Delaware Gazette for her informative articles publicizing and creating interest in this event.  Most of all, thanks to all who attended.  You made it a memorable day.

What a fun time! Any and all alums of Willis were invited to stop by Willis and just spend some time talking and catching up and remembering "the good ole days" from 1-3 today. There was no cost, no food and no entertainment, other than all the Willis alums who were there! The only advertising was three articles in The Gazette and word of mouth. There were, at least, 3 people from my dad's class there--the Class of 1936! My class was the last class to graduate from Willis so we were the youngest people there! Give everyone a chance to get his or her pictures sent in and then check them out on the Willis website. A bunch of us from my class went over to Hoggy's (The Jug) afterwards. What a great day... Hope they do it every year!

Did you know that Delaware has a grape named for it?  Bill Bossert uncovered details and you can read about it here.

The Class of 1959's 50th reunion was a huge success.  Take a look at the group photo.
