Before the Grapevine was born, correspondence with classmates was enthusiastic but irregular. It started shortly after the 45th class reunion in September 2006 when people sent me their photos of the various reunion functions and I shared the albums classwide. If you would like to revisit the reunion albums, there are many:
It really took off when Sondra Flowers Hopper suggested that the attendees might like to see the photos of Those Who Could Not Attend.
These albums were so well received that classmates began to correspond regularly. When an interesting story or photo crossed my desk, I shared. This page is a compilation of many messages over many months which led to the monthly newsletter. Enjoy!

Roger Ross had a great idea! His hobby is his koi pond and he sent several photos of his handiwork...so I have started a new album called Hobbies & Interests. Who else would like to contribute?
I know Dennis Jackson likes to race and raft, Tom Schmick pampers his motorcycle, Larry Barrett attends the annual balloon festival in Albuquerque, Karen Oller George shops, Sally Jo Scott cruises, lots of people like to travel. How do you spend your spare time? Are you artistic? Do you build things? Do you sail or camp or knit or farm? Do you ponder weighty subjects and write lofty tomes? (Ok, that would be hard to take a picture of.)
Do you have some photos you would share? Show us what you do.
See Roger's lovely project in his Hobbies/Interests album. Besides being fun, this could be quite a learning experience. I'm excited about this.
Dennis Jackson was quick to respond with his travel adventures--a trip to Belize. Click here to see his album.

Carol Mullins Weatherall and Carolyn Morgan Hampton were featured on the front page of the Delaware Gazette recently. The article is attached. Sadly, Carol passed away shortly after the article was published.

Happy New Year to you all. We have a new Hobbies & Interests photo album online. Cathy Crosby Vigor has been recognized for her fabric art and has shared a sampling of her work. You can view the photos here. If you missed the December newspaper article about her being named to the Southern Artistry, you can find it here.
So far, we have three Hobbies & Interests albums, each as unique as the individual. I would love to create an album for each of us. As more and more of us retire, we have time to devote to things of interest, to passions of the heart. Why not share? Not only do we learn about the person but we learn about the craft, the talent, the adventure. Let me hear from you.
Besides his elaborate koi pond hobby, Roger Ross also has a passion for cars. He is a Chevy guy: a 1957 Belaire convertible, a 1971 Chevelle SS, and a 2007 Trailblazer SS. You can see these beauties here.
Darlene Winship Creasy has always drawn but she put her talents away to raise her family. In 2005, she decided to take up the pencil again and good things have happened. She started with sketches and evolved into plaster/texture, mosaics, acrylics, and a unique crinkled paper technique. Last November she was invited to display five of her creations at the annual Arts Castle gala, and her life has slipped into another gear. You can see a sample of her work here.
We have a craftsman among us. Larry Barrett enjoys woodworking and making furniture. He designs each piece to serve a purpose and fit a space. You can view his handiwork here.
Fred and Sharon Kiernan Maggard were interviewed by the Las Vegas Sun as they whiled away some time playing nickel keno at the Nevada Palace. They enjoy the pace of life in the Silver State.
