The 50th reunion of the Willis class of 1961 was a rousing success.
The Friday night casual mixer at The Jug was a blast. Estimated classmate count was 37 and guests pushed the total close to 60. The staff at The Jug is to be commended for accommodating such a large party on such short notice. Kudos to them!
Even though the weather was wet and dreary on Saturday, the atmosphere inside the Glenross party room was bright and lively. By 5:00 PM, the scheduled starting time, there was already a bustling crowd of classmates eager to get the show on the road. It just got better from there. Rex Welker took the class photo, and Kate Liebers, representing the Delaware Gazette, took pictures and conducted interviews for an upcoming newspaper article on the 50th anniversary of the final graduating class of Willis High School. You can be sure it will be a future Grapevine feature. The final partiers left the building at 10:45, reluctant to see the evening come to an end.
Sunday breakfast at the Corner Cafe wrapped up reunion weekend activities. Conversation and laughter flowed as steadily as the coffee.

All weekend it seemed like everyone had a camera. Lights were flashing constantly. Anyone who wishes to share their photos can contact me. I will create an online album or post the link to your own album. I hope to hear from many so check back often.
